A friend of my husband will text him whenever he finds something I might like. So, when he sent pictures of this vanity and dresser, I was not sure whether or not I could transform it. I hemmed and hawed a bit before I gave the man $40 (for both!)

They were in absolute terrible shape! The veneer was coming off in strips and they smelled SO BADLY!

My poor husband and son transported them into the house. The cats had a ball scratching and clawing at the furniture!

I hate veneer. I really and truly despise it! It took me forever to chisel it off using a heat gun and a scraper. It finally came off and I went to the next step: paint and stain. (Look at the mess on the floor!

Look at that beautiful top! The veneer protected the wood underneath and man, oh man...was I a happy girl! The stain took beautifully!

I painted the base Plaster and added the Iron Orchid Design Transfer "Neverending Story".

Lastly, I added the "Winter 2020 Vintage" from Prima Design. I distressed and antiqued the dresser and vanity with clear and dark wax.

The legs were stained Jacobean and everything was sealed with Polycrylic in Matte. Glass knobs were added last.

The List:

Winter 2020 Vintage from Prima Design transfer

Neverending Story from Prima Design transfer

MinWax Jacobean stain

Waverly chalk paint in Plaster

Glass knobs from Amazon
